I read these words in my devotions today.
From the True Identity Bible for Women–
“The living God leads through relationship. When we understand this, we start to seek His face, not His hand. We stop wanting to find God’s plan so that we might find God instead. No longer capriciously wanting the ‘answer,’ we want the One who knows the answer. ”
Jeremiah 29:13 “You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.”
These words rang true in my spirit today and challenged me again to strive to know God instead of trying to figure out what He wants for me.

My amazing husband came home with a bag from a bookstore at lunch today. Before he opened the bag, he told me that he bought me something today. I had no clue what he would have bought because I hadn’t hinted at anything recently. He told me I had shared many times that I would love to have a new Bible (mine is from high school and the section from 1 Peter to Revelation is hanging by half of the binding) and that he had been looking at one for over three weeks! Again, I had no clue about any of this. To my surprise, of all of the Bibles there are out there right now, he picked the one I was most interested in researching! Plus, he picked the color of cover I would have wanted, too! Oh, but we’re not done…he even purchased a new carrying case (apparently my old one was embarrassing to him–you know the black carrying case with the Thomas Kincaid picture on it)! It looks like a brown handbag/clutch complete with a cream/silver buckle accessory! More than I could imagine, let me tell you! I want to just drop everything and read.

Read the description here.
I’ll come back and revisit this post with updates on what I discover as I read it!
Wow! What a special gift. Thanks, Stevan!

Yes, people! There is a deal on the rebate items if you do a tiny bit of pre-planning and printing!
Today starts the first day for September’s rebate items to be purchased. I usually have to get my items right at the beginning because my store empties out fast on those rebate items (as in the next day sometimes)!
So, when I found out that there is a WAGS coupon out for $10/$40, I jumped on it. Why? Because there are 9 rebate items this month and it will cost well over $40 to get them all. Yeah, it’s a pretty hefty sum to haul over, even though you know you’ll get it all back (sans tax). Those of you who get the rebate back on the gift card know that even that tax will then be covered with the additional 10% that Walgreens includes for using their giftcard. So, Ella and I skipped into Walgreens at 8:10 a.m.! I really don’t think I’ve ever entered a store that early since Ella has been born. I actually had to wait at home before we left so we wouldn’t be sitting in the parking lot waiting for it to open.

1 Lypsyl Orig. LypMoisturizer at $1.99

minus $10/$40 WAGS coupon
Subtotal:$30.15
plus 5.1% sales tax at $1.73
Total: $31.88
I was able to pay with my giftcard that I use strictly for rebate purchases so that it keeps getting reloaded when the rebates get claimed.
I will get it $43.90 plus WAGS addit. 10%! That 10% covers the sales tax and then some (The 10% is for using the giftcard to receive my rebate–new to Walgreens? MoneySavingMom explains it all here!)!!!
*I didn’t need the pitcher filter replacement and the Exedrin Gels weren’t in the store, yet so I bypassed those deals.
Now, if you have all of those coupons than you may want to check out some other scenarios that Crystal and friends put together at MoneySavingMom of how to get the best deal for that $10/$40 coupon. She even has a place for others to link their blogs to her post so that we can see everyone’s ideas on how to use the coupon the best way for our household’s particular needs! Thanks, Crystal!

We had some rain this morning so everything is wet. That’s okay because we need it desperately. But, what do you tell your two-year-old when she could live on the slide at the church playground? I admit, that I am not great about getting her outside long enough each day—maybe if I got better at cleaning my house, I wouldn’t have fifteen things to do first before we go out. Of course, I usually just give up and take her out at some point, but I need to do more creative things with her. Any ideas? There is sidewalk chalk and bubbles…we have those, but what else?
While we’re at it, what are some great indoor things for two-year-olds to do? You can only watch so many Veggie Tales and Backyardigans before going insane, even if I do know all of the lyrics to most of them!
